The team
from Königswieser

Together we are pulling in the same direction.

Königswieser cable winches

Our experienced team knows what is important. On cable winches that deliver what they promise out in the forest. Quality is our boss’s top priority. Quality in production, advice, sales and service.

With our expertise and experience, we are always there for our customers and, if the hat is on fire, even the boss himself. We do not waver one millimetre from our quality standards. We benefit from the fact that we really know our products inside out and are even users ourselves.

Our history

Robust and strong like our forestry winches. This is how our eventful past has made us. Since 1972, we have had to restart several times. That was not always easy. Nevertheless, we have remained true to ourselves and have never given up. Under the leadership of Günter Königswieser junior, a stable basis for continuous and controlled growth has now been achieved and the company’s success secured.

1972

The company is founded by Friedrich Königswieser with a partner near Bad Wimsbach. The design and production of forestry winches has been the core competence from the very beginning.

1977

Start of production of cable winches for well-known brand manufacturers.

1984

Sales launch of the first own brand KMB.

1990

The storm of the century ‘Vivan’ causes major damage and doubles the company’s turnover within a very short time.

1991

Takeover of STEYR Forsttechnik.

1993

Company takeover by Günter Königswieser senior. Sale of the KMB brand and launch of the KGD brand, which is still well-known today.

1998

3 of the 12 global producers of agricultural forestry winches produce within a radius of 30 kilometres. They are jokingly referred to as the ‘Bad Wimsbach cable winch cluster’.

2002

Königswieser continues to grow and celebrates its 30th birthday.

2014

Expansion of production capacity through relocation to a larger hall.

2020

Turnover and headcount reach record levels.

2022

Königswieser is 50 years old and is managed in the third generation by the grandson of the company founder.
